After our fun stay in Utah, we headed up to Oregon with Derek and Edon to visit their new stomping grounds and see the coast. They were kind enough to let us drive with them in their van from Salt Lake to Eugene. Overall the drive went pretty well especially have 4 kids with us. We were able to stay in Oregon for a week to play and visit. The boys still talk about visiting Jackson and Autumn.
We took a day trip to the coast and visited a light house first, then went to the beach. The light house was fun. There was little hike up to it and then we went on a tour of the light house. It turned out to be a pretty day too. Kind of chilly, but sunny.
These kids had such a good time playing in the sand. They ran around together for a good couple hours without taking a break. So fun for them to just play and be free.
This puddle was a huge hit for them. It was actually kind of gross because it was stagnant water, but pretty safe because it was shallow and away from the real big water.
The jumped and played in it for a good while. It was also warmer because it was so shallow.
Logan came over because he was cold and wanted me to hold him.
I told him I couldn't hold him because he was so wet. He didn't love that response, but I tried to convince him to lay down in the sand and that would warm him up.
It took some convincing and encouraging...
but eventually he realized it was warmer on the sand.
Next it was jumping off the hill.
Then at the end we took them out to the big water and raced up and down the shore before the tide could get us. A game that never gets old :).
Ahhh....the warm sand.
