October was a busy and fun filled month for us! We had some great neighbors over the back fence with two boys pretty close in age to Trevor and Logan. They would play everyday that they could when the sun was up. We had them over for dinner and a few times for family home evening and treats. One night we talked about using kind words and made milkshakes as our treat afterwards.
We started a project to refinish our table. Dave did most of the sanding (with a little help from Logan) and I did the priming, painting, and staining. Overall the table turned out pretty good and we are mostly happy with it.

Trevor and Logan have become good little helpers around the house. They do dishes, sweep the floor, and empty the dishwasher. Its nice to have some helpers, and hopefully they just get better at doing their jobs!
Savannah and I have enjoyed some one-on-one time a few mornings a week while Logan is at preschool. When I get time with my kids all by themselves its pretty fun and one of my favorite things.
We went to a farm and pumpkin patch just down the road from us. The kids loved the wagon and finding the biggest pumpkin they could!
There was this fun little barrel train that kids rode on twice and loved it every time. Savannah even went all by herself and stayed in her seat.
Sunday are sometimes hard for Savannah. She doesn't always get her 2 to 3 hour nap because we have 1:00 church. This particular Sunday she sat down to eat dinner and just couldn't make it.
We were able to go to Utah in October. The first night we were there we went to a pumpkin patch/fall festival place that was super fun! They had slides made out of haystacks, a fire pit, a corn maze, and a tractor ride to find your own pumpkin. It was perfect for the kids because they could mostly run around and do what they wanted to.
We also met up with all of Dave's siblings for a surprise birthday dinner for his parents who both turned 60 this year! It was really fun to see how surprised Brent and Julie were to see all of us waiting for them at dinner.
The cousins had a great time seeing each other too. We did a family scavenger hunt and broke up into 3 teams.
We had a little bit of time with our friends the Ereksons and the Stokers. I can't believe that we all have 3 kids each! When we first became friends no one had any kids. Its been fun to watch our families grow and remain friends even though a lot has changed. We sure miss living closer to them!
Trevor always has his nose stuck in a book. He has a hard time putting them down just to eat. I love that he loves to read, but sometimes I wish he could focus on just what he needs to at that moment then go back to reading. For example, its not uncommon that I have to tell him to put the book down so he can put his socks and shoes on to go to school. Most of the time he's trying to read and do something else.
This is Savannah's favorite outfit at the moment. If its in drawer that is what she goes for first.
Logan and I sharing a coke over lunch. I had a bottle of coke with a little bit left and it was flat, so I gave it to him and he was perfectly happy with it.
We went on a field trip with Logan's school to a pumpkin farm and they could pick out their own pumpkin as long as it fit in this basket. He ran around with his little friend Harper.
He also was running and playing with his friend Ryder.
The kids sure love when Daddy comes home. Its always an event of running and screaming to the door that Daddy is home!
I attempted to make Lego Ninjago costumes this year for Christmas. Logan of course wanted the blue ninja, Jay and Trevor wanted the red ninja, Kai.
This was the night of our church Trunk or Treat.
Logan still loves to finger paint. He did a nice fall colors picture for us.
Grandpa and Grandma Brough came for Halloween. We went to a local farm/park for trick or treating on Friday night, then to the Gardens at Spring Creek Saturday morning.
The Gardens at Spring Creek was really fun and more activity based than all about the candy. In fact, when they would play games the prize was seeds to plant fruits, vegetables, and flowers.
Logan had his face painted like batman.
Trevor opted to complete his costume by getting gold painted on his face for Lego Ninjago.
On Sunday afternoon we went outside to rake leaves and play in them. Logan and Savannah loved it!
Dave was gone while we were raking leaves but came home just in time to catch the last few minutes.
For Family Home Evening on Monday night we carved pumpkins. Trevor and Logan were not fans of touching the pumpkin guts.
