We began our drive around noon after loading the trailer, cleaning the apartment, and turning in our keys. We stopped for some lunch then went on our way. We headed to Philadelphia to stay with some friends that night. They were some friends from our CrossFit gym in Atlanta, Eric and Kim. They just moved to Philly about 6 months ago and they are expecting their first baby. It was so fun to see them and visit with them even if it was just for one night. They were so kind and fed us dinner and breakfast. Its always nice to have a home cooked meal when your traveling.
We found Savannah with her bow pulled down over her face.
Our next stop was Hershey. We had some friends from church in Atlanta, Scott and Leslie. They had lived in Hershey for 4 years before moving to Atlanta for 1 year. Scott is an orthopedic surgeon, did residency in Hershey, then a fellowship in Atlanta. They have 4 kids and one on the way. Our boys absolutely love their kids. Its also kind of nice to have friends that have older kids because they kind of look after them and totally keep them entertained. We of course went to Hershey world and went on the free ride. The kids had a blast and the boys were super excited about a giant sized Hershey kiss. They didn't get to bring them home, but they carried it around the store for awhile.
So Excited!
All of the kids together before we take off to finish the drive.
And our sweet friends. We only lived in the same place for a year, but I absolutely adore this couple. They were so fun and kind. I miss them being in Atlanta.
Also, this picture was taken the day after her due date. Yeah, were those friends that come visit when your 9 months pregnant. But they said they were grateful because it took their minds off of the waiting game for the baby.
We stopped at Sonic on our way out of Hershey. So lovely.
We made it to Charlotte North Carolina that night. Trevor apparently got hot in his pajamas so he was stripped down to his underwear. There was no good way to get him inside being modest. We tried a blanket but it just kept falling off or he would squirm and fall off Dave's shoulder. It was pretty entertaining. Getting three sleeping kids into a hotel room without leaving one of them alone is kind of tricky. How would you do it?
Finally safe and sound in bed.
But this little miss was wide awake and ready to party after driving all day.
