February 2017

To start off our month we went to the book festival at Logan's school. It was really fun for all of us! They had Chick-Fil-A cater dinner and there were all kinds of carnival games for the kids. Clifford the big red dog was there and there were two face painters. Logan went for batman.

Trevor wanted a ninja mask....to be like Kai from Lego Ninjago.
And Savannah was a cat.

It was a fun family night for all of us.
That same night after we put the kids to bed, Dave and I tackled a home project of putting knobs on our cabinets. I measured, he drilled, and then I went back and added the hardware.
Before
After
Overall were pretty happy with it and it didn't take us too long to get it all finished up.
We had visitors! Jordan and Kelli found a great deal on flights and came to see us for a few days. It was fun to have them and spend time together. Uncle Jordan did a lot of reading with the kiddos.

We went to pick up Logan from preschool and I forgot he had soccer that day so we watched and waited. Savannah took some pictures of Jordan and Kellie. Sadly, this is the only shot of Kelli I got from the whole trip!

We made a stop at Toys R Us. The boys looked at Legos for a long time. Savannah was kind and brought Logan a chair to sit on.
We went to the Fort Collins Museum of Discovery. They have a great water table that kept Logan and Savannah occupied most of the time.

Trevor loved it too.

Another favorite was the tornado tunnel.

We also had some more visitors stay for just one night. My friend Whitney from college and her friend Kate. They were on their way from Idaho to Kansas. Fort Collins was almost exactly half way so they stopped to say hello for a night. Sadly I don't have any pictures of them either!
We had a yummy breakfast of homemade cinnamon rolls and an egg casserole.

More reading....
Walking to pick up Trevor from school. Uncle Jordan was riding the scooter and holding Logan's hand while he rode the bike.

One more from the museum.
Nice shades!
Savannah reading all by herself....well looking at the books and talking to herself.

We took the kids to a bounce house place called Jumpin. Trevor was invited to a birthday party on a Sunday and he decided he should go to church. So instead, we took his friend out on a Saturday to this fun bounce house place.
They all had a great time!
Gavin, Trevor, Logan
These boys shared an air mattress for a few days while we had family in town. I loved that Logan gets snuggled up to Trevor. You can't see it in this picture, but they are holding hands and I thought it was sweet.
Happy Valentine's Day!
I gave the kids and Dave a little treat bag and note for Valentine's. The kids sure loved having candy for breakfast.

Playing Ker Plunk, one of our family favorites!
Logan fell asleep in the car. I woke him up to walk inside, but apparently just getting inside the door was as far as he could make it.
We took a hike to Horsetooth falls. Horsetooth Reservoir is just on the edge of Fort Collins, about a 15 minute drive from our house. There are all kinds of hiking trails, mountain biking, and its a lake so lots of water activities too. Its a beautiful spot and so many people love to go up there to enjoy nature. One of my friends asked if I would take the kids on a short hike and I knew they would love it. So after school we went straight to Horsetooth so we would have enough time to hike with the sun up. It was a short hike, but the kids loved it and did pretty great. Even Savannah walked most of the hike.

At the end of the hike there is a small water fall and rocks to climb on. We spent some time there hanging out and having a snack.
My friend, Liz, is in the background there. They are expecting their first baby!

We enjoyed a dinner out to Chick-Fil-A. Dave and Savannah shared some ice cream for dessert.

Dave's face here kills me. It totally reminds me of a Logan smirk.

We had more visitors! Grandpa and Grandma Brough were going on a cruise. They booked their flights out of Denver so they could see us for a couple days before and a couple days after.

Enjoying some root beer floats after dinner.

Trevor entered the science fair this year! He took 3rd place in the first grade. Dave and he worked on it together. The title of his project was, "How Slow can a Magnet Fall?"
They had different strengths of magnets and a copper pipe to see which magnets were slower or faster at falling through the pipe.
