August 2018

We had our friends the Ereksons and Stokers here for the weekend. It was a good time and all the kids played really well together. It was busy and loud, but everyone was happy. The adults were able to sneak away Saturday morning for a date. We went to the Temple and then headed to Old Town for some taste testing. We got some fancy cheese and a baquette, a cinnamon roll, ice cream, and calzones from DP Dough's. Lots of yummy food with great people!

Down by the water

Logan and Savannah were taking turns taking pictures of each other.

Logan and I went on a date for some school shopping and a treat.

Dave attempting to work at home with these crazies!
Logan needed to get some headphones for school. He was so excited about them! They are Jurassic World headphones and he used them for a few days at home before taking them to school. He loves to listen to the music on our iPod and walk around with his headphones. I'm sure this is just a precursor to what he'll be doing as a teenager!
Dave ran Ragnar Colorado with a team from his work. I think he enjoyed it and it was a good experience. He had to run the last leg of the run which was long and had lots of elevation changes. He said the scenery was amazing, but the running was really difficult.

Savannah loves painting!
I took the kids to Hobby Lobby to pick out a toy or craft. Savannah and Logan both picked things they could paint. Trevor picked a set to build a solar powered car.
Trevor and Logan checking out to see if the solar powered car works.

We did lots of walking around our neighborhood to check out all the big machinery and all the new houses being built.

Trevor and I went on a date for school shopping and a treat at Mary Mountain's cookies.

We told the kids on August 16, 2018 that I was pregnant. We gave them shirts that said Big Brother Again and Big Sister. They didn't get it when they first saw the shirts but then we said I was pregnant and they all got super excited, especially the boys! Afterwards, they ran out to the backyard to play and our neighbors were outside so they immediately told them. It was really sweet to see how excited they are to have a baby. Logan has been very concerned about the baby and asks every day how many more days until the baby comes. I have an app on my phone that tracks the baby's growth and development. The boys boys have loved looking at that and reading about how big the baby is and what's going on.

Logan was so excited to start Kindergarten! He was especially excited for all the new friends.

Trevor was excited for 3rd grade and mostly excited to learn multiplication!

Savannah gets some good mommy time with the boys both at school in the morning.

Logan is doing half day kindergarten so when he gets home from school he does about an hour of quiet time on his own. He usually chooses to do Legos during that time. He has come up with some really great ideas of things to build. This is one of his creations. He is always very excited to tell me what he has built and what it can do.
Our stake had a community day of service that we were able to participate in. Everyone worked hard together.

We had the chance to go to a Colorado Rapids game vs Real Salt Lake. We had really great seats and Real Salt Lake won the game.

For Family Home Evening we got a pizza and went to the park to play. It was super fun and the kids had a great time.
